My 1st grader is rough and tumble and he goes through shoes like nobody's business. I don't know if it's poor quality or just my son's use, but he has burned through 2 pairs of Nike's in under a month each. Skechers seem to be the only shoes he can wear daily and not have fall apart. What's nice about these is Amazon carries them in half sizes. I haven't been able to find that anywhere but the Skechers store for about another $10 higher. Regarding the lights, one shoe lights up yellow and red, the other lights up blue and green. They come with a little button on the back outside of each shoe that turns the lights off. I think that's also the way you have to change the colors. In other words, I haven't noticed them change colors just by walking; they light up the same. But when I push the button it does change them. That can give it better color combos. I'm going to double-check today and see if that's really true. Highly recommend these!
