These are a pair of the most awesome (motorcycle) riding boots that I have purchased. The last pair (another manufacturer) used just glue to bond the sole to the upper, as well as the black trim with yellow ‘stitching’. On a hot day a couple of weeks ago the other boots with all of the glued components literally came unglued. The boots started coming apart on my ride. So, I needed a new pair of boots, I went on Amazon and started to look. I have had Frye boots in the past, so as soon as I saw these Frye Bowery Combat lace-ups, I knew that they would be awesome; goat skin was the big selling point. I ordered the size 8-1/2, but when I received them, I found them a little bit too big; should have ordered a half size smaller. I decided to keep them anyways because the size 8 was $100 more. These boots are so comfortable, I can wear them all day long. After I received my boots I went back on Amazon and I noticed that the size 8 Frye Bowery Combat boots in tan were Now reduced, so I bought them too.The second part of this review will happen once I receive my newest order.Well ........, my size 8 tan boots arrived (quicker than I expected), and these fit PERFECT! And, they are BEAUTIFUL! Real leather, can double as a dress shoe, and GREAT as a inexpensive motorcycle boot; which is what I bought them for. Unreal! Thank you Frye for the exquisite boots, and thank you Amazon for the special pricing.I’ve bought two pairs of these. Black and the Tan. Size 12. I am normally a size 12 1/2 in leather dress and casual shoes (when I can find them) and a 13 in sneakers and running shoes. These in size 12 definitely run a half size larger (12 1/2) and I’ve got plenty of room in the toe box to wriggle my toes comfortably. They do not slide in the heel for me. They do seem a little wider than other Frye boots with a D width. But for me they are very comfortable, especially with a medium size wool sock. I generally like to wear a thin wool sock from ‘Darn Tough’ but a little thicker sock works better for me with this shoe. I also wear an arch support (the half size) (provided to me by my Podiatrist) and the shoe fits perfect for me along with a medium thick sock. The leather on these shoes feel to me almost like glove leather. Right out of the box, these feel and fit comfortable with little break in necessary.
